Whilst the first week of the season may not seem the obvious time to head out to the slopes, and there may be an element of a gamble in terms of snow depths, it is a fantastic (and great value!) week to take your family out to the mountains for a bit of early season snow. Here are 5 great reasons why you should be heading out to the French Alps early this year:
1) Quiet Ski Resorts
First and foremost, holidaying on Premiere Neige week means the pistes will be a lot quieter than they are for the remainder of the season. Whilst a few lifts may not be up and running, queue times will be a lot shorter for those that are. Less queuing means more time on the runs and ultimately more skiing.
2) Enthusiastic Staff
It’s the first week of the season which means all the Ski Famille nannies and chefs will be raring to go in their new roles. They will be trying out new games and activities with the children, and cooking up a storm in the kitchen. Travelling this week means you can be sure of a great service when you head back to your chalets after an active day on the slopes.
3) Get your ski time in and still spend Christmas at home with the family
Another benefit of travelling out on the 12th December is that you can get your ski time in and still spend a traditional Christmas at home with all the family. For many of us being away at this time of year is simply not an option due to the people we would be leaving behind, but by travelling before Christmas you can have the best of both worlds. Avoid the hustle and bustle of last minute gift shopping on UK high streets and jet off to the serene pistes of the French Alps … returning just in time for some festive fun.
4) Resorts decorated for Christmas – get into the Christmas spirit!
Speaking of Christmas, by the 12th of December all of our resorts will be adorned with lights and decorated with traditional Christmas cheer. What could be better than spending the lead up to the big day in a magical winter wonderland surrounded by snow covered mountains? And to make it even better, you will be back home on the 19th giving you plenty of time to get your own decorations up in anticipation for Christmas Day with the family.
5) Great savings
If all that wasn’t a reason enough to head out on the 12th, by holidaying on Premiere Neige week you can make great savings on flight and accommodation costs. Holidays with Ski Famille are up to £600 per adult less than one week later; a family of 4 can stay in Chalet Eva in Les Menuires for as little as £1,898 chalet board with flights and transfer. Those heading out on the 12th December will also benefit from reduced lift pass prices; visitors to La Plagne and Les Menuires will save up to £254 per family!
- Les Gets catered chalets from £449 per adult inc flights and transfers.
- Plagne 1800 catered chalets from £599 per adult inc flights and transfers.
- Reberty 2000 (Les Menuires, 3 Valleys) catered chalets from £759 per adult inc flights and transfers.
Ultimately these 5 reasons make the 12th December a perfect time to take the family away skiing, so why not call our friendly team on 01252 365 495 and enquire today?
