This season marks our 26th year of running family ski holidays in the French Alps. Each season brings its own set of new and exciting things and this year is no different. From updated decor to an entirely new resort, here’s a summary of what’s new at Ski Famille.

New living room furniture in Les Gets chalets

First up, a small but by no means insignificant change. We have got lovely new sofas in Chalet Le Marjorie, Chalet Bogart and Chalet Bacall. These new sofas really brighten up the cosy lounge areas and we absolutely love them!

Mouflon Chalet improvements

The Mouflon chalets in Les Gets have also undergone refurbishment with new furniture, fixtures and fittings throughout the living areas. We have brand new sofas in both Grand and Petit Mouflon, bringing the chalets up-to-date, whilst still maintaining their traditional Alpine charm. Another big change in the Mouflons this year is the new playroom doors. The once slightly dark playroom has now been given a new lease of life with large windows and glass doors across the back wall. The light dramatically changes the feel of the room, and we hope all our young guests will love their new play space!

Chalet Nicole refurbishments

Chalet Nicole has been a much loved chalet by Ski Famille guests since 2013 and over the summer of 2016 it underwent extensive refurbishment. The Chalet has been extended with the addition of 2 new family suites, one sleeping 4 (Room 7), and another sleeping 6 (Room 8) in three separate sleeping areas. These rooms are situated on the top floor of the property, giving them fabulous views across the Plagne 1800 ski area. We have also installed a new spa room with steam room and sauna, increasing the leisure space and facilities available to guests on their return from the slopes. With the chalet now sleeping 30, ‘Monty’s Pyjama Patrol’ baby and child listening service has also been introduced, exclusive to Chalet Nicole.

A new Resort – Les Bruyeres chalets

Perhaps one of the biggest changes for the 2016/17 season was the introduction of two new chalets and a completely new resort to the Ski Famille programme.  Les Bruyeres, situated just down the piste from our existing chalets in Reberty 2000, is a fantastic family friendly resort with a traditional Alpine feel. With an indoor swimming pool on the chalet’s doorsteps and a 10 minute bus ride to the amenities of Les Menuires, we felt it was the perfect option for Ski Famille families.  Chalet Aigrette and Le Corbeau received our ‘Premier Select’ rating, due to their fantastic facilities (think cinema rooms, pool tables and hot tubs), and luxurious touches. They are the perfect option for those wanting a luxury family ski holiday.

Meet Monty in Resort

This season we are pleased to give all Ski Famille children the chance to meet our friend Monty in resort. Monty’s favourite place to hang out is by the Ice Rink in Les Gets, but he makes special visits to all our chalets each week to say hello to the children who are staying with us. If you do happen to bump into him whilst you are out in resort, don’t forget to upload a photo to Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag #imetmonty and you could be a recipient of his very own book ‘Monty goes Skiing’.

Ski Famille offers fantastic family skiing throughout the ski season – if you would like to know more order a copy of our brochure today.
