As we come to the end of our 25th season operating family ski chalets in the French Alps, we have taken the time to take a look back and reflect on the highs and lows of the 2015/16 ski season.

Snow Report for 2015/16

Following a slightly shaky start to the season, involving mini-bussing our first Les Gets guests of the season up to nearby Avoriaz, the snow this year has been superb. The first week of March in particular provided conditions that were second to none, and this was the week that our newest team member, George, got to experience his first ever week of snowboarding.

You can read all about his trip in his blog post here. Once the snow had started it didn’t want to stop; we experienced fresh snow falling in Les Gets well beyond the closure of the resort and Operations Manager Kirsty claims her best day of skiing was on the 2nd May (!) up in Val Thorens.

Capturing Ski Famille in Action

March 2016 also played host to a talented set of photographers and videographers heading out to the Alps to capture the Ski Famille product in action. We would personally like to thank all the families who took part and helped us create a fantastic album of photos for use in our upcoming marketing activities.

We also shot a vast amount of video footage that it set to play a starring role in some exciting projects that we have in the pipeline for the 2016/17 season … watch this space!

The Ski Famille Chalet Challenge

This year we introduced the Ski Famille Chalet Challenge, encouraging resort staff and guests alike to upload photos of their Ski Famille holidays to our Instagram feed. We had hundreds of fantastic images come in, showcasing all angles of the Ski Famille experience, and they have provided a real insight into what it’s like to both work for, and holiday with us.

You can check out the images by searching #skifamille on instagram or by clicking here.

Customer Stories Competition

Our 25th season also brought with it our Customer Stories competition, and a chance for our social media followers to tell us all about their favourite mountain experiences.

We had a fantastic set of entries, with many being strong contenders for the much coveted prize of a Ski Famille holiday. Ultimately a fabulous video sent in by three young guests staying in Chalet Marjorie was voted the winner; we hope the Brown family enjoy their trip to the mountains in 2017.

All change in Les Gets

This year also marked our last season with the Negritelles chalets in our programme. Having had these chalets for over 15 years, they have inevitably become a much loved ski holiday destination for many Ski Famille families. However, time moves on and we have some fabulous new ski chalets lined up for 2016/17 and beyond … another watch this space, sorry!
