In Chalet Childcare Operator

The Role

Ski Famille childcare staff are the reason that so many of our guests return year after year. You will be the main focus and barometer if a family has enjoyed their holiday and if of course they will travel with us again.

We are looking for well presented, energetic, engaging individuals who are happy to work in a team environment and are able to provide stimulating, entertaining and safe activities for children from 4 months to 12 years, come rain or shine. Unlike many day nurseries, the children are only on holiday for a week, which means relationships have to be made quickly with new children and their families.

We provide training before the season starts on all aspects of working in a ski resort, for example, taking the children to ski school and activities to suit the environment.

Childcare Staff Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility in providing an excellent carefree holiday to all travelling guests, by providing our brochured childcare services
  • Provide a welcoming family friendly environment in everything that you do and a clear routine for children from day one
  • Delivery of feedback to children’s families using our preferred system – usually ‘TAPESTRY’ – consequently a working knowledge of this would be useful, however full training will be given
  • Display a well-developed knowledge of your resort and the activities and facilities on offer to families
  • Ensure you are always attentive to the needs of your guests and actively seeking out opportunities and revenue streams and sales opportunities to make their holiday fun, trouble free and generating revenue for Ski Famille
  • Work with your team colleagues to ensure that all resort operations occur efficiently with minimum cost
  • Close professional liaison with all parents or guardians, before and during the provided childcare hours
  • Offering daily detailed feedback to parents
  • Acting as a positive role model with the fun factor
  • Daily clean and weekly deep clean of the playroom
  • Delivery of varied, age appropriate activities indoors and outdoors 6 days a week
  • Keeping children safe at all times and undertaking company directed H & S checks
  • Preparing and serving lunches with the understanding of dietary requirements and being mindful to dangerous or life threatening allergies
  • Providing snacks when appropriate
  • Completing the relevant paperwork daily or weekly
  • Maintaining and developing a positive working relationship with all our key suppliers, i.e. chalet owners, equipment hire shops and ski schools.
  • Uphold the reputation of Ski Famille

Requirements of the Role

  • Either NVQ Level 3, NNEB, CACHE, BTEC, RGN, RSCN, or equivalent qualifications or experience
  • Friendly, flexible, enthusiastic and approachable
  • Able to deliver excellent customer service in all circumstances & to guests of all ages
  • An understanding of the differences between adult & child holiday needs
  • Knowledge of snow sports is advantageous but not essential
  • A strong experienced team player
  • At least basic French language skills is preferable & would put you ahead of other applicants, however this is not essential
  • Availability for the whole season (start of December to end of April)
  • Current Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
  • We will conduct DBS checks as well as taking up at least two professional references

Night Porter

You will be a key part of our exciting new Chalet Hotel team, reporting directly  to our Hotel Managers. Our night porters play an important role in our chalet hotel, ensuring its security at night as well as cleaning and setting up the dining room for breakfast for the following morning for our guests.

Chalet Hotel Assistant

Assistant Chalet Hotel Manager

Reporting to the Chalet Hotel Manager, you will play a key part in developing and monitoring all elements of the delivery of our new Chalet Hotel product, developing our staff and maximising profits whilst controlling all costs. The role of the Assistant Chalet Hotel Manager is very varied. You will be fully responsible for everything that occurs within the hotel from guest welfare to stock control and maintenance of the hotel, plus managing and motivating your team. 

We are looking for an energetic, experienced manager with high levels of service and commitment. Using a proactive approach, you will aim to achieve all financial goals set by the company whilst delivering the best customer service.

Maintenance Technician

Our property maintenance technician keeps our Chalet Hotel, located in Les Bruyères quarter of Les Menuires, running to the highest possible standard. He / she ensures that any issues that have been reported by other staff and directly from guests are sorted quickly and efficiently. 

Area Manager - NOW FULL

Reporting to the Overseas Operations Manager you will be a key part of the senior management team overseas. Responsible for all aspects of resort operations in your own region you will be expected to lead your Resort Managers and teams to ensure Ski Famille and Ski Vertigo guests receive a consistent level of excellent service. The role includes, staff management, supplier relations, training, budget controls, staff motivation and much more.

Chalet Hotel Manager

As a Chalet Hotel Manager you will ensure that an excellent standard of catering and hospitality is delivered to our guests. Using effective time planning and organisational skills you will manage various departments throughout the hotel and provide hands-on support to your team. You will offer motivation and encouragement to get the best from your team and individuals to ensure our guests have a fantastic holiday experience.

Chalet Hotel Supervisor

As the Chalet Hotel Shift Supervisor, you will manage and lead by example all of the hotel’s  hospitality staff and ensure that these services are consistently delivered to a high standard to delight all of our guests and ensure that they have a seamless, enjoyable stay.

Chalet Hotel Night Porter

Guided by our Head Chef and Sous Chefs, our Commis Chef assists with the delivery of  high-quality meals to all our hotel guests. In this junior role, you will be working with a team of senior chefs as well as chefs de partie and  kitchen porters.

Chalet Hotel Kitchen Porter

Reporting to our Hotel Head Chef,  our Kitchen Porters work with our Chef team to ensure that our hotel kitchen runs efficiently with the cleaning of all cutlery, crockery  and utensils, as well as the general cleaning of kitchen equipment and surfaces, and ensure that these are cleaned to a high standard.

Chalet Hotel Chef de Partie

Guided by our Head Chef and Sous Chefs, our Chefs de Partie  assist with the delivery of  high-quality meals to all our hotel guests. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident chef ideally with supervisory or management experience to demonstrate and develop their skills

Chalet Hotel Bar Supervisor

Your role is to manage our hotel bar with a small team of Hotel Assistants and provide our guests with a high quality service in a family friendly environment.

Chalet Hotel Guest Services Representative - NOW FULL

As the primary interface for our Les Bruyères (3 Valleys) hotel guests, your mission is to ensure that our guests have a premium, fantastic experience for the duration of their holiday.   You will greet all of our guests, and communicate with them throughout their stay, in an attentive, courteous and friendly manner.

Area Maintenance Support

The brief is simple. Help us to maintain an amazing portfolio of ski chalets and support the wider team in delivering an exceptional level of service to our guests.

As the Area Maintenance Support person, you will be the primary point of contact for the seasonal management teams regarding maintenance issues.
